This update is not intended for use with your computer

If you see a "Create a Windows 10 or later install disk" checkbox, your Mac supports this feature. Windows 11 is not supported. Installation guide Notes:. These instructions are intended strictly as a guide for installing a fully updated bit version of Windows 10 on an Intel-based macOS Big Sur If your computer cannot run macOS High Sierra Boot Camp requires an Intel processor.

Macs with Apple Silicon M1 processors cannot install Windows. Perform these steps in order. Step 1: Check for macOS updates Before configuring Boot Camp, it is critical to make sure that your Mac's software is up to date, which lessens the risk of encountering problems during installation: In the menu bar, from the Apple menu, click System Preferences.

On the left, go to Software Center. If there are updates for your computer, in the upper right corner of the window, click Update All. This process is called partitioning a disk, and requires that you disable FileVault whole-disk encryption provided by Apple : In the menu bar, from the Apple menu, click System Preferences.

Click FileVault. The FileVault control panel will open, locked by default. Before you can disable FileVault, it requires you to unlock the control panel to show that you're an administrator on your computer.

To do so, click the lock icon. Enter your administrator username if required and your password. You'll then be able to click Turn Off FileVault To confirm, click Turn Off Encryption. Step 4: Download Windows 10 Note:. Back up your files if you haven't yet done so. Partitioning your system's hard drive with Boot Camp Assistant may erase all files. For details about backing up your documents and content using cloud services at IU, see Store and share your individual files at IU. Your organization may run automated cleanup scripts that delete accounts once their password expires. Because of this, if you do not change your password before it expires, your account could be deleted, which will cause you to lose access to your Azure file shares. This command must be run in an on-premises AD DS-joined environment using a hybrid user with owner permission to the storage account and AD DS permissions to change the password of the identity representing the storage account.

The command performs actions similar to storage account key rotation. Specifically, it gets the second Kerberos key of the storage account, and uses it to update the password of the registered account in AD DS. Then, it regenerates the target Kerberos key of the storage account, and updates the password of the registered account in AD DS. You must run this command in an on-premises AD DS-joined environment.

I should also mention that I have a computer running Windows 10 Pro, version 20H2, which I don't use much, but it hasn't yet been notified of the 21H1 feature update, nor of the KB update. If and when those notifications arrive, I'll attempt to install them, but will create a Restore Point ahead of time just in case there is a problem. In the past, when an update would not run normally through Windows Update, I manually downloaded the update from the Microsoft Updates Catalog website and installed it with no problem.

As I mentioned before, I tried to manually install this update but for some reason, it wouldn't. Could be an issue with the Windows or an issue with the hard drive.

But I not concerned with it anymore. The hard drive has been wiped. I will remove the hard drive and recycle the laptop. When I tried to download the update from the Microsoft Catalog it didn't even download. The download window opened with the link to the "msu" file, but clicking on that link didn't do anything, i. This never happened to me in the past when I downloaded updates from the Microsoft Catalog and then manually installed them. This, too, seemed unusual. So now I right-clicked on the "msu" link and asked for it to open in a new tab, and something is downloading.

OK, it downloaded, and tomorrow I'll attempt to install it, but will create a Restore Point ahead of trying to install it. I'll report the results sometime tomorrow afternoon. I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit.
