Educators must anticipate teaching in the school year following participation. Priority will be given to educators working directly with students from any subject area teachers, media specialists, librarians ; however, a limited number of spaces will be reserved for administrators and supervisors.

Applicants may only attend one residential program at Mount Vernon per calendar year. Headed for Success seeks to avail others the same opportunities to overcome the same social challenges these business owners once faced. Headed for Success shall provide housing for 10 committed youth up to a period of 10 months. Residential services include case management, assessment, planning, family and individual counseling, parent education, social skills enhancement, workforce development, career coaching, and training.

To reduce the recidivism rate of justice involved youth and young adults in the District of Columbia by positively impacting and enhancing the quality of their lives, as well as their familial relationships.
